A trained blood tracking dog will increase your chances of recovery of otherwise lost deer. The Ohio archery season is in full swing now and bucks are on their feet giving the bow hunter greater chances of a harvest each day. If for some reason the shot is off the mark and you track to the point of last blood don't think all hope is lost. The best thing a hunter can do is call a handler of a tracking hound. These four legged friends have been trained and can do amazing work. My hound is trained to track on interdigital hoof scent. So when the blood trail is not visible my hound can lock on to your deer and follow him to his death bed.

Ace In The Hole
Twenty-six days and counting to the start of the Ohio Archery season. All my buddies have been slinging arrows, hanging stands and checking trail cam pics. I know the pics I have been seeing are once again impressive. This should be another super season here in the Sleeper State. I personally haven't done nothing to prepare for the hunt other than shoot my bow. We have picked back up on running training lines to make sure Buddy is ready to track when we are needed. He and I are ready to put in the time and hard work this season to recover as many deer as possible. Hopefully turning a hunters bad day into a great day and getting the chance to find that first time hunters deer and watching the excitement. That is what this is all about to us. I try and talk to as many people as i can and inform them of the ability of a well trained hound. I pass out as many business cards to hunters so when they need a tracker they got a number. Even if you have never needed the assistance of a tracker, find one and keep their number just in case. This could be your own Ace In The Hole. If the time comes and for whatever reason you need a tracker you can call me 24/7. I travel all over the state of Ohio and into KY and IN. If you don't get a hold of me leave a message or a text and I promise to return every call. If I cant help in assisting you there is a good chance i can put you in contact with another tracker.. Best of luck and may your mark be true.

Come on Sept. 28
Its hard to believe the whitetail opener in Ohio is almost here. As always I am getting more excited every day, but at the same time I begin to wonder where has the time gone. It seems like just a month ago we were finishing up with last season. Looking forward to starting the 2013-2014 season and putting a few more notches on the old belt. I am sure this year is going to be another record book year for Ohio monster bucks. As my self and others have been seeing some super bucks out in the bean fields in the late evenings. We have been working with the hounds as usual and have been getting some decent weather to run training lines before the season starts. I am sure everyone else has been slinging arrows, hanging stands and looking at the weekly trail cam pics. Putting in the time, hard work and don't forget all the money we spend preparing for the moment. As hunters we practice all year so we are prepared, We at OTH do the same training our hounds so we are prepared to help in the recovery of mortally wounded deer that might otherwise never be found.
